Canoe slides and the Pont d'Arc in a half-day

The 12 km canoe trip combines the two flagship attractions of Ardèche in a single half-day. Setting off from Les Mazes, you first discover the famous smooth concrete canoe slides where you simply let yourself slide down with a laugh. Then come the rapids and the passage under the Pont d'Arc. With 5 progressive rapids and varied scenery between cliffs and Mediterranean forest, it is the ideal route for those wanting more action than a simple ride without going for a full day. Suitable from age 7 for children comfortable on the water.

The canoe slides, the most fun moment

Four smooth concrete slides line the route. You let yourself glide down with the paddle held up, one of the best moments of the trip.

The Pont d'Arc included on the route

Pass under the 54 m natural arch after the canoe slides and the first rapids.

5 rapids for 3 h of thrills

A more committed route than the 6 km, with more action and varied scenery.

All inclusive, return shuttle included

Canoe, life jackets, paddles, watertight barrel and minibus shuttle back to the base.

FAQ about the 12 km trip

1 What are the canoe slides?

These are smooth concrete features that turn a weir into a water slide. You let yourself glide down with the paddle held up, well centred and aligned with the current. No special technique required, it is one of the most fun moments of the trip.

2 What is the difference between the 6 km and the 12 km?

The 6 km goes under the Pont d'Arc and finishes at Châmes. The 12 km starts from Les Mazes, also goes under the Pont d'Arc but adds the canoe slides and 2 extra rapids. It is a sportier and more complete version of the half-day.

3 Is the 12 km trip suitable for children?

Yes, from age 7 for children comfortable on the water and able to swim. The route includes fun but not dangerous rapids. Children especially love the canoe slides.

4 Can you do the 12 km in the afternoon?

Departures are possible until 12pm in high season to ensure arrival before the end of the day. Allow about 3 h of paddling, plus breaks.

5 Where are the canoe slides on the 12 km route?

The four canoe slides are between the Les Mazes base and Vallon-Pont-d'Arc, in the first part of the route. You go through them before the rapids and the Pont d'Arc.
