Article 1 - Purpose and definitions
1.1. This policy explains which trackers are placed while you browse this website, what they are for, how long they are kept, and how you stay in control of them.
1.2. The term « tracker » here means any device allowing information to be read from or written to your device: a cookie placed by the website or by a third party, but also browser local storage, an invisible pixel, a device identifier or a library embedded in an application. This policy covers all of these devices, whatever their technical form.
1.3. The placing and reading of trackers are governed by Article 82 of French Act No. 78-17 of 6 January 1978 on information technology, data files and civil liberties, as well as by Regulation (EU) 2016/679 on the protection of personal data.
Article 2 - Your consent
2.1. With the exception of trackers strictly necessary for the operation of the website, no tracker is placed without your prior agreement. Until you have made a choice, no tracker subject to consent is activated.
2.2. Your consent is expressed by a positive act: ticking a category, then saving your choice from the tracker management panel. Continuing to browse, scrolling the page or closing the banner in no way amount to acceptance.
2.3. Refusing is as simple as accepting: the banner displayed on your first visit includes, at the same level, a button allowing you to refuse everything.
2.4. Your consent is obtained by purpose. You may accept one category and refuse another.
2.5. Refusing trackers subject to consent does not prevent access to the website or to its content. Only the features that depend directly on them, such as the display of a video or of a map provided by a third party, may be unavailable until you have authorised them.
Article 3 - Changing or withdrawing your choice
3.1. You may at any time review, change or withdraw your choice from the « Manage my cookies » link in the footer of the website, which reopens the tracker management panel.
3.2. Withdrawal is as simple as giving consent and takes effect immediately. It applies only for the future, however: it does not call into question the lawfulness of what was placed while your consent was active.
Article 4 - How long your choice is valid
4.1. Your choice is kept for six (6) months. On expiry of that period, the panel is presented to you again so that you can confirm or change it.
4.2. The lifetime of each tracker is stated in the tables below. The trackers we place ourselves do not exceed thirteen (13) months, and the data collected through them is not kept beyond twenty-five (25) months. Trackers placed by third parties are subject to the periods set by their publishers, which we do not control; these also appear in the tables.
Article 5 - Trackers necessary for operation
5.1. These trackers are essential to the operation of the website and to the provision of the services you expressly request. They cannot be refused, and the law does not require your consent to be obtained in order to place them. They serve neither advertising nor the tracking of your browsing on other websites.
| Tracker | Publisher | Purpose | Lifetime | Transfer outside the EU |
|---|---|---|---|---|
Consent tracker (vb-cookies, browser local storage) | Viking Bateaux | Stores your choice regarding trackers | 6 months | No |
| Cloudflare Turnstile | Cloudflare, Inc. | Protection of forms against automated submissions | Session | Yes, United States |
Article 6 - Audience measurement
6.1. These trackers allow us to understand how the website is used, to measure its traffic and to improve its content.
| Tracker | Publisher | Purpose | Lifetime | Transfer outside the EU | Consent |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Google Analytics 4 (_ga, _ga_<identifier>) | Google Ireland Limited, Google LLC | Traffic measurement and analysis of the browsing journey | 13 months | Yes, United States | Required |
Article 7 - Advertising and marketing
7.1. These trackers allow the effectiveness of our advertising campaigns to be measured and, where applicable, messages tailored to your interests to be sent to you, including on other websites. They are placed only with your agreement.
| Tracker | Publisher | Purpose | Lifetime | Transfer outside the EU | Consent |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Google Ads (_gcl_au) | Google Ireland Limited | Measurement of advertising conversions | 90 days | Yes, United States | Required |
Article 8 - Content provided by third parties
8.1. Some pages embed content hosted by third parties, such as videos or interactive maps. Displaying this content may lead the third party concerned to place its own trackers, over which we exercise no control. Where those trackers are subject to consent, the content only loads with your agreement; the « Consent » column of the table below indicates this for each of them.
| Tracker | Publisher | Purpose | Lifetime | Transfer outside the EU | Consent |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Leaflet / OpenStreetMap | OpenStreetMap Foundation | Display of interactive maps | No tracker placed | No | None |
Article 9 - Your browser settings
9.1. Independently of the management panel, your browser allows you to block or delete trackers already stored. The arrangements vary from one browser to another and are described in its online help.
9.2. These settings are a complement, not a substitute: they constitute neither consent nor a valid refusal within the meaning of Article 82 of the French Data Protection Act. Only the tracker management panel records your choice. Furthermore, indiscriminately blocking all cookies in the browser may degrade the operation of the website, including for necessary trackers.
Article 10 - Your rights and your contacts
10.1. The personal data processing carried out through these trackers is described by the privacy policy, available at /en/privacy-policy/.
10.2. For any question relating to trackers or to exercise your rights, you may write to VIKING SMR, at contact@viking-bateaux.com.
10.3. You have the right to lodge a complaint with the Commission Nationale de l'Informatique et des Libertés (CNIL), the French data protection authority, 3 place de Fontenoy, TSA 80715, 75334 Paris Cedex 07 - www.cnil.fr
Article 11 - Updates
11.1. This policy may be modified at any time, in particular when a tool is added or removed. The applicable version is the one published on the website on the date it is consulted.
11.2. Last updated : 27 August 2026.
