The 30km Bivouac Descent is an iconic Ardèche River descent! This two-day adventure, complete with an overnight bivouac, is perfect for adventurous paddlers seeking a challenging yet accessible experience. Starting in Vallon Pont d’Arc, you’ll navigate through pristine natural landscapes, encountering rapids of varying intensity, and finish in Sauze.
Estimated duration: 2 days (4 to 5 hours of paddling per day). Level: Sporty, suitable for all ages (minimum 7 years old, swimming ability required). This immersive route offers stunning views of limestone cliffs, wild beaches, and rich biodiversity within the nature reserve, providing moments of relaxation and wonder amidst the Ardèche countryside, culminating in an overnight bivouac under the stars.
However, the bivouac site fee is not included.

The starting base is that for the descent, given for information purposes only. You must first go to the Viking Bateaux Pavilion (see access map), from where you will be taken to the corresponding pier.
