The 6 km canoe descent of the Gorges de l’Ardèche is the ideal way to discover the river as a family, alone or with friends. A few strokes of the paddle are all it takes to cover the distance on fairly calm water, with a few rapids including one of the most mythical, the Charlemagne, which guides you straight under the Pont d’Arc.

Difficulty: Easy

Public: Adults and children aged 7 and over

Duration: Approx. 1h30 (*time given for guidance only)

Return shuttles: Every hour from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. (off-season) and 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. (July/August)

Canoeing down the Ardèche 6 km

Arrivals and departures

Departure time: Between 10 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. non-stop

Departure base: Vallon Pont d’Arc landing stage*.

Arrival time: To be determined before descent

Arrival base: Châmes landing stage (stop no. 5)

The starting base is that for the descent, given for information purposes only. You must first go to the Viking Bateaux Pavilion (see access map), from where you will be taken to the corresponding pier.
